ABOUT HOUSING OPTIONS
Local "housing options" services provide information, advice, support and practical help for older people who are living in poor or unsuitable housing and/or considering options for moving on home. The services also seek to improve the range of housing options available to older people by influencing planners and service providers within the housing, health and social care sectors.
From 2002 – 2005 Care & Repair England promoted the idea of such services through its "Should I Stay or Should I Go?" project.
Please note that whilst the Toolkit and reports are still useful to local groups interested in setting up such a service detailed the updating of this information ended in 2006 and some of the local services are no longer operating.
For general information about Should I Stay or Should I Go, go to Programme
Outline.
For results of the evaluation of pilot local housing options advice services for older people, go to Evaluation Findings.
For practical resources to help you set up a service go to Toolkit.
